Flood Watch Issued for NYC Amid Week of Rain and Storms
New York City is bracing for a wet and stormy week following a sunny and pleasant weekend. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), spotty rain showers and potential thunderstorms were expected to begin Monday afternoon, with heavier rain forecasted from Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning. A Flood Watch has been issued for this period, as 2 to 5 inches of rain are predicted, with locally higher amounts possible. The heaviest rainfall is anticipated in the Lower Hudson Valley, interior southwestern Connecticut, and northeastern New Jersey. Meteorologist Bryan Ramsey noted that the rain and storms should subside by the weekend, offering a return to drier conditions.
