San Diego Seeks Public Input on Affordable Housing at City-Owned Sites
San Diego is inviting residents to provide feedback on potential affordable housing developments on city-owned properties, including seven public library locations. The city has identified 11 sites for further study, with plans to incorporate replacement libraries alongside housing developments. Public open houses are being held to gather community input, with four workshops scheduled. Pat Wilson, president of the Friends of San Diego Public Library, emphasized the importance of protecting library services while supporting the housing initiative. The city's Affordable Home Development Master Plan is still in the planning stages, with a draft to be finalized after public consultations.
