Clermont Boat Ramp Partially Closed Due to Drought-Induced Low Water Levels
In Clermont, Florida, a prolonged drought has led to the partial closure of the Clermont City Boat Ramp. The water levels in the lake have dropped significantly, exposing areas that are typically submerged. This has necessitated the closure of the right side of the boat ramp to address safety concerns, as protective materials on the ramp were exposed and needed removal. The drought, one of the longest in Central Florida in decades, has also affected the swimming area at Waterfront Park, where land that is usually underwater is now dry. City officials have declared a Phase 3 water shortage, urging residents to conserve water while awaiting more consistent rainfall.
