Texas Advances Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure with $250 Million Federal Grant
Texas is advancing its electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure with the approval of Phase II of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. The Texas Transportation Commission has allocated $250 million in federal grants to build 147 EV charging stations for light-duty vehicles. This initiative is part of the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, aimed at promoting infrastructure development. Additionally, Greenlane, a heavy-duty truck charging operator, plans to develop new charging sites in Dallas and Houston along the I-45 corridor, enhancing the state's capacity for electrified trucking.
