Mental Health America Launches Young Leaders Council to Address Youth Mental Health and Employment
Mental Health America (MHA) has announced the opening of applications for its 2026-2027 Young Leaders Council (YLC). This initiative targets young adults aged 18 to 25, aiming to engage them in national discussions and initiatives that focus on youth mental health, employment, and financial well-being. The program will select five young leaders for a nine-month term from September 2026 to May 2027. Participants will receive a $2,000 stipend, engage in monthly virtual meetings, and work on a capstone project. They will also attend the Mental Health America Conference in Washington, D.C., with travel and lodging expenses covered. The YLC aims to explore the intersection of financial stability, meaningful employment, and mental health, addressing challenges such as the rising cost of living and the impact of artificial intelligence on job markets.
