Florida Power Light Launches 'Saving Steps' Program Offering Bill Credits and Energy Education to Seniors
Florida Power & Light (FPL) has introduced its 'FPL Saving Steps' program, designed to assist eligible seniors with energy bill relief and education. Through this initiative, customers who have received assistance from the Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program (EHEAP) within the last 24 months will be granted a one-time $200 bill credit. In addition to financial aid, the program provides practical energy-saving education aimed at helping participants reduce their future energy consumption and manage monthly expenses more effectively. Dawn Nichols, vice president of customer service at FPL, emphasized the company's focus on making it easier for customers to access necessary help, providing both immediate relief and long-term solutions for energy savings. The program is part of FPL's broader 'Assistance Center' initiative, which consolidates various support options, energy-saving programs, and local community resources into a single platform.
