President Herzog Visits Australia to Support Jewish Community After Bondi Beach Massacre
Israeli President Isaac Herzog has arrived in Australia for his first visit since the tragic Hanukkah Bondi Beach massacre, where 15 people were killed in December 2025. Invited by the Governor-General, the Prime Minister of Australia, and the Jewish community, Herzog's visit aims to express solidarity and offer support to the Jewish communities affected by the attack. During his stay, Herzog is scheduled to meet with senior Australian leaders, including the Governor-General and the Prime Minister, as well as leaders from across the political spectrum. His itinerary also includes visits to Jewish communities across the country and media interviews. The visit is marked by heightened security, with about 3,000 police personnel deployed across Sydney to ensure safety. This comes after an Australian teenager was charged with making online death threats against Herzog, highlighting the tense atmosphere surrounding the visit.
