Seeds of Peace Leader Eva Armour Discusses U.S. Domestic Conflict Dynamics
Eva Armour, executive director of Seeds of Peace, a nonprofit focused on conflict resolution and youth leadership, has highlighted the increasing domestic conflict within the United States. In an interview, Armour noted that the division in the U.S. has intensified to the point where tools used in active conflict zones are now necessary domestically. Seeds of Peace, founded in 1993, traditionally focused on international conflicts, bringing together young people from opposing sides to engage in dialogue and shared experiences. Armour emphasized that the same patterns of polarization and misunderstanding seen in international conflicts are now emerging in the U.S., making it difficult for people to engage across differences without hostility. The organization encourages participants to test their beliefs and seek out challenging perspectives, aiming for understanding rather than agreement.
