UK Company Administrations Rise Amid Economic Pressures
The number of company administrations in the UK has increased by 6% in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, according to research by Kroll. A total of 649 companies entered administration, with significant increases in the financial services sector, which saw a 63% rise. This trend is attributed to regulatory pressures, funding challenges, and market volatility. The manufacturing, construction, and real estate sectors also reported high numbers of administrations. The collapse of Market Financial Solutions, amid allegations of fraud, has further impacted the financial services sector, leading to increased scrutiny and compliance discussions among boards.
