StartUp Hutch Receives $25K Grant to Boost Entrepreneurship in Reno County
StartUp Hutch has been awarded a $25,000 grant by the Reno County Community Wellness Coalition to provide entrepreneurship training for residents of Reno County, Kansas. This funding is part of the Pathways to a Healthy Kansas initiative, supported by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. The grant will support a two-year entrepreneurship initiative featuring the 'Who Owns the Ice House?' pre-accelerator course. This program is designed to develop entrepreneurial thinking, problem-solving skills, and an economic mindset among participants. It specifically targets residents from ALICE households, which stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, describing those who earn above the federal poverty level but still struggle to afford basic necessities. The grant will cover costs such as instruction, meals, and marketing, allowing eligible residents to participate at no cost.
