Residents Escape Massive Fire in Bullitt County, Kentucky
In Shepherdsville, Kentucky, two residents narrowly escaped a devastating fire that consumed their home on July 30, 2026. The fire, which started on the rear deck, quickly spread throughout the house. Thanks to a smoke alarm, the occupants were alerted in time to evacuate safely. The Zoneton Fire Department, along with additional crews from Shepherdsville, Okolona, Fern Creek, Mount Washington, and Nichols, responded to the scene. It took nearly two hours to control the blaze, which had engulfed the entire structure. One resident was treated for possible smoke inhalation, and a firefighter was hospitalized for evaluation but later returned to duty. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
