Riyadh Air Seeks Approval for U.S. Flights Amid Expansion Plans
Riyadh Air, a Saudi Arabian start-up airline, has applied to the U.S. Department of Transportation for the necessary permits to begin scheduled and charter flights between Saudi Arabia and the United States. This move is part of the airline's strategy for rapid international expansion. Established in 2023 and fully owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Riyadh Air has already started flights between Riyadh and London using its Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The airline aims to expand to 100 international destinations by 2030 and has placed significant aircraft orders to support this growth.
