Fort Worth Firefighter Todd Brook Dies Amid Cancer Battle and Kidney Donor Search for Wife
Todd Brook, a veteran firefighter from Fort Worth, Texas, has passed away after battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Brook, who served the Fort Worth Fire Department for 30 years, was also engaged in a personal mission to find a kidney donor for his wife, Jennifer, who suffers from polycystic kidney disease. Despite his declining health, Brook remained committed to helping his wife secure a kidney transplant. His colleagues have expressed deep sorrow over his passing, remembering him as an exemplary firefighter and leader. Brook's cancer diagnosis, which he believed was linked to his exposure to carcinogens during his firefighting career, was revealed in October 2025. His wife, Jennifer, faces the prospect of dialysis without a transplant, as Brook was initially her planned donor before his cancer diagnosis.
