Chu's opposition stems from the bill's $1.15 trillion topline, which she argues provides a 'blank check' for President Trump to continue military actions in Iran. Chu criticized the bill for diverting funds from domestic needs, citing the conflict's human and financial costs. Additionally, she opposed the inclusion of the SAVE America Act, which she described as a voter suppression measure due to its stringent voter registration requirements.
