Moonshot AI Achieves $20 Billion Valuation Following Major Investment Round
Moonshot AI, a prominent Chinese artificial intelligence laboratory, has reached a significant financial milestone with a $20 billion valuation. This achievement follows a successful $2 billion investment round led by Meituan's venture arm, Long-Z Investment, and included participation from major investors such as Tsinghua Capital and China Mobile. Founded in 2023 by Yang Zhilin, a former researcher at Meta AI and Google Brain, Moonshot AI has gained recognition for its large language models, Kimi K2.5 and K2.6, which compete with products from OpenAI and Anthropic. The company's financial performance is robust, with annual recurring revenue surpassing $200 million in April, driven by increased paid subscriptions and API service usage. Over the past six months, Moonshot AI has raised a total of $3.9 billion in capital.
