Ukrainian Drones Target Russian S-400 Radar, Disrupting Air Defense
Ukrainian drones, operated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), successfully targeted and destroyed several high-value Russian air defense and radar systems in a recent operation. The attack, which took place overnight, focused on equipment valued at over $170 million, including two Pantsir-S2 air defense systems, a Kasta-2E2 radar, a Sopka-2 radar complex, and a critical 92N6 engagement radar of the S-400 Triumf air defense system. The destruction of the 92N6 radar is particularly significant as it plays a crucial role in tracking targets and guiding missile engagements. Without it, the S-400 unit's effectiveness is severely compromised. This operation is part of a broader strategy by Ukraine to degrade Russian military capabilities in occupied territories and regions like Belgorod and Kursk.
