Two Individuals Detained After Standoff and Road Closure in Columbia, Missouri
A standoff in Columbia, Missouri, led to the closure of a section of East Broadway on Tuesday afternoon. Police were engaged with a barricaded person, deploying a Bearcat armored vehicle near East Broadway and Fyfer Place, adjacent to Boone Hospital. Boone County emergency dispatchers issued public alerts, initially closing Broadway from Ann Street to Old 63, later extending the closure to William Street. The standoff concluded when a man exited the residence at 3:45 p.m. and was taken into custody. Columbia police later announced the arrests of Ethan James McCauley, 23, and Zoe Georgina Honovi, 21. McCauley was being served a felony warrant for a prior weapons incident and was arrested on suspicion of armed criminal action, avoiding arrest, and resisting arrest. Honovi was arrested on suspicion of hindering a felony prosecution for obstructing police during McCauley's refusal to leave the home. Boone Hospital operations were not affected by the police activity.
