Guided Hikes Scheduled at Henderson Heritage Preserve in Aiken, SC
The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department is organizing a 'Take-A-Hike' event at Henderson Heritage Preserve on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event offers participants an opportunity to explore the preserve, which is managed by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Known for its unique sand bluffs, rare plant species, and diverse wildlife, the preserve provides a scenic and educational outdoor experience. Two guided hike options are available: a 2-mile walk starting at 9 a.m. for those preferring a moderate pace with slight inclines, and a more challenging 4-plus-mile hike beginning at 10:30 a.m., featuring steeper terrain. The event aims to encourage outdoor activity and appreciation for the area's natural beauty.
