WhatsApp Introduces New Parental Controls and Design Updates
WhatsApp, operated by Meta, is rolling out new features aimed at enhancing parental control for teenagers and refining the app's user interface. The new parental controls allow parents to manage their teens' access to Meta AI and channels, and receive notifications regarding their group activity. This initiative is part of a broader effort to provide a safer online environment for younger users. Concurrently, WhatsApp is exploring a cleaner design for its bottom navigation bar, intending to remove text labels for a more streamlined look. Additionally, the platform is testing 'Focus schedules' for chat lists in WhatsApp Plus, enabling users to control notification times for specific conversations. Restricted chats are also being rolled out on Android beta, which will be limited to the primary device only, clarifying their purpose and functionality.
