New Orleans Firefighters Battle Raging House Fire on Napoleon Avenue, Displacing Residents
New Orleans Firefighters are actively working to control a raging house fire on Napoleon Avenue near Lasalle Street. The fire, which broke out Thursday evening in a multi-family home, has left the building charred, displaced residents, and caused power outages in the immediate area. While the fire was intense, no injuries have been reported. A resident from an adjacent building, Jessica Huneycutt, called 9-1-1 just before 7 p.m. after noticing smoke. Fire officials, including Captain Quentin Brown, stated that the building is currently unstable due to the possibility of collapse, preventing entry. Fortunately, no neighboring buildings sustained damage. The New Orleans Fire Department shared an image on Facebook of a firefighter rescuing a cat from the burning structure. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
