WhatsApp Rolls Out Redesigned iPad Interface with Mac-Like Sidebar for Enhanced Navigation
WhatsApp is introducing a significant interface redesign for its iPad application, featuring a new Mac-like sidebar that replaces the traditional bottom tab bar. This update, which is being rolled out to some iPad users, mirrors the layout already available on WhatsApp for Mac. The sidebar provides quick access to key sections of the app, including Chats, Updates, Communities, Calls, and Meta AI. Users have the option to hide the sidebar to maximize screen space for chat lists and conversation views. This redesign follows an earlier beta test of a Liquid Glass visual overhaul and aims to provide a more tablet-friendly layout, enhancing navigation and user experience on larger screens. The new interface is currently available to some beta testers and a subset of users on the regular App Store version, with a broader rollout expected over time.
