Mayor Angie's Charitable Gala Raises Record Funds for Michigan City Community Initiatives
Mayor Angie Nelson Deuitch hosted the Third Annual Charitable Gala at the Stardust Event Center in Michigan City, Indiana, on April 17. The event, themed 'Empowering Communities,' aimed to support various community initiatives. This year's gala raised approximately $150,000, with significant contributions from Google and other sponsors. The funds will be directed towards youth development, neighborhood revitalization, housing support, food access, workforce development, addiction recovery, mental health services, and capital improvements like new baseball diamonds. The gala highlighted the importance of community partnerships and the flexibility to address urgent needs, such as supporting local food pantries and assisting residents displaced by sudden motel closures.
