This consideration comes as Harry seeks a way to serve his father, King Charles III, without returning to Britain, which is not an option for his wife, Meghan Markle. The idea draws inspiration from historical precedents, such as the Duke of Windsor's appointment as Governor of the Bahamas after abdicating the throne. However, the proposal faces significant constitutional challenges, as the appointment of Australia's Governor-General is determined by the Australian Prime Minister, not the British monarchy.
