Atlanta Officials Host Emergency Training for Nightlife Workers to Enhance Public Safety
Mayor Andre Dickens' Office of Film, Entertainment, and Nightlife recently hosted a training day for Atlanta's nightlife workers at Live Nation's headquarters. The session provided hands-on instruction from first responders on critical emergency medical procedures, including administering Narcan to reverse drug overdoses and applying tourniquets for severe bleeding. Business owners, bartenders, servers, and security personnel participated in the training. Mayor Dickens attended to engage directly with nightlife professionals. This event is part of an ongoing quarterly initiative aimed at equipping venue staff with life-saving skills. Atlanta Fire Battalion Chief Sherwin Brown demonstrated the procedures, and Cortney Foster of the Atlanta Nightlife Advisory Council emphasized the importance of preparing staff to handle medical crises to ensure patron safety.
