Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania has issued a stark warning that he would leave the Democratic Party if it officially adopts an anti-Israel stance. This declaration comes amid growing tensions within the party, particularly with its progressive wing, over U.S. policy towards Israel. Fetterman, who has been a vocal supporter of Israel, expressed his concerns during an interview with CNN, stating that the party's shift towards anti-Israel policies would be a 'red line' for him. This statement follows a recent vote where over 100 House Democrats opposed military aid to Israel, highlighting a significant shift in the party's base, especially among younger voters. Despite this, Fetterman described the vote as symbolic and not a trigger for his departure. He emphasized that an official party platform against Israel would compel him to reconsider his affiliation.
