Fire in Indian Nightclub Results in 25 Fatalities, Including Tourists
A devastating fire broke out at a nightclub in Goa, India, resulting in the deaths of at least 25 people, including four tourists. The incident occurred in Arpora village, a popular party hub, and was reportedly caused by indoor fireworks, according to the state's Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. Initial reports suggested a cylinder blast, but further investigation pointed to electrical firecrackers as the cause. The fire led to the arrest of four nightclub managers. The victims included 14 staff members, and seven individuals are being treated for injuries, with one person suffering from 60% burns. The nightclub was reportedly overcrowded, with over 100 people present at the time of the fire. The structure, made of palm leaves, quickly caught fire, exacerbating the situation.
