Habitat for Humanity Volunteers from Around the World Support Children's Center Renovation in Slovakia
Nearly 20 volunteers from eight countries, including Japan, New Zealand, and Australia, are traveling to Dobšiná, Slovakia, to renovate the Domček Parent Centre. This center, operated by the civic association Detstvo deťom since 2013, supports children and families at risk of generational poverty. The volunteers, employees of the VKR Group, are participating in a partnership between Habitat for Humanity International and the Employee Foundation of the VKR Group. Their tasks include building a new wooden fence, constructing steps, improving a new gate, and replacing windows. Concurrently, other VKR Group employees globally are participating in the 'Donate Your Steps' challenge, converting their physical activity into financial support for Habitat for Humanity.
