Funeral Arrangements Announced for Former Elgin City Council Member Susan Moylan
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday to honor Susan Moylan, a former Elgin City Council member who passed away on July 27 at the age of 84. Moylan, who had been battling dementia, served on the council from 1985 to 1993 and was also a member of the Gail Borden Library Board. Her career included a significant tenure as the director of the Business and Industry Training Center at Elgin Community College. Moylan was deeply involved in community service, contributing to organizations such as Rotary, United Way, and the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation. She was also known for her skills in gardening and quilting, often donating her quilts to charity. Moylan is survived by her four daughters, 11 grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and numerous other family members.
