Domestic Violence Call Leads to Discovery of Two Drug Labs in Saco, Maine
A domestic violence investigation in Saco, Maine, on Monday led authorities to uncover two active drug laboratories within a residence. Saco police, responding to the initial call, found what they suspected to be a drug lab and subsequently contacted state and federal drug agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA). Upon further investigation, agents discovered a psilocybin mushroom lab and a DMT (dimethyltryptamine) lab. The MDEA seized a significant quantity of illicit substances, including 4.25 kilograms of psilocybin mushrooms, 12 grams of DMT, 15 grams of cocaine, 34.5 grams of ketamine, 40 grams of MDMA, and 1478 doses of LSD. Christopher Blanchette, 52, of Saco, was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking in scheduled W drugs and two counts of trafficking in scheduled X drugs, in addition to charges related to the domestic violence incident. He is currently held at York County Jail on $250,000 cash bail.
