Rep. Jared Golden and Democrats Demand Transparency on Iran War Casualties
Democratic U.S. Representative Jared Golden, along with 14 other Democratic members of Congress, has expressed serious concerns regarding the transparency of information about U.S. servicemember casualties in the conflict with Iran. In a letter addressed to President Trump, these lawmakers, many of whom are veterans, highlighted issues with the Department of War's handling of casualty reports, accusing it of delaying, removing, or mischaracterizing information. They emphasized the need for timely and accurate reporting to maintain morale and trust among U.S. servicemembers and their families. Since the conflict began in February, the Pentagon has confirmed 18 U.S. servicemember deaths.
