Legal Delays Continue in Costa Rica's Aldesa Investment Fraud Case
The preliminary hearing for the Aldesa investment fraud case in Costa Rica has faced another delay as defense attorneys attempt to postpone proceedings. The case, which dates back to 2019, involves allegations of major fraud by the Aldesa Corporation, a once-successful investment firm. The hearing, which began this week, is crucial for determining whether the case will proceed to trial. Defense lawyers have argued against the evening scheduling of the hearing, citing health concerns and the need for rest. Despite these objections, the court has rejected the requests to delay, and the case will now be reviewed by the Tribunal Penal del Segundo Circuito Judicial de San José.
