U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Fights Wife's Deportation Amid Military Base Detention
A U.S. Army staff sergeant, Matthew Blank, is actively working to prevent the deportation of his wife, Annie Ramos, who was detained at a military base in Louisiana. The couple, who married in March, had planned to live together at Fort Polk, where Ramos was detained shortly after arriving to begin the process of obtaining military benefits and a green card. Ramos, originally from Honduras, remains in a federal immigration detention center. The situation has sparked criticism from military family advocates, who argue that such actions could negatively impact military recruitment and morale, especially during times of conflict.
