One Dead, Multiple Injured in Taunton House Party Shooting
A shooting at a house party in Taunton, Massachusetts, early Sunday morning resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries. Taunton police received several 911 calls around 12:30 a.m. reporting shots fired and multiple people hit in the area of Weir and Sumner streets. Responding officers found multiple victims with gunshot wounds at a home on Weir Street. Eight people were injured in total, all in their early twenties. Zirovick Depina, 22, of Brockton, MA, was pronounced dead Sunday morning. Another victim is in serious but stable condition, while the remaining victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Some victims were transported to area hospitals by emergency services, while others may have sought medical treatment independently. Taunton and state police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
