Scientists Capture Unprecedented Images of Sun's Surface, Revealing Dynamic Patterns
Scientists have successfully captured the most detailed images of the sun's surface to date, using the National Science Foundation's Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope located in Maui, Hawaii. The images reveal intricate feathery patterns and ripples of instability on the sun's surface, caused by magnetized plasma moving at varying speeds. This phenomenon, akin to waves stirred by wind over water, has been observed on Earth and other planets but never at this level on the solar surface.
