In Altadena, California, community centers damaged by the Eaton Fire are being rebuilt with the help of Disney Imagineers and renowned architect Shigeru Ban. The reconstruction efforts focus on creating innovative and flexible community spaces that serve as centers for gathering, planning, and healing. The Altadena Center for Community, designed by Ban, is a 1,600-square-foot building that uses a prototype first employed in Japan for disaster relief. The project is part of a broader effort to restore and enhance public spaces in Altadena, including parks and libraries, with significant contributions from local organizations and residents.
