This threat follows recent US military actions, where a US fighter jet disabled two Iranian-flagged tankers in the Gulf of Oman, accusing them of challenging a US blockade of Iranian ports. The situation has escalated tensions in the region, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil route that Iran seeks to control. The US has deemed Iran's control over this route unacceptable. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts are ongoing, with the US sending a proposal via Pakistani mediators to extend a truce in the Gulf, aiming for a final settlement of the conflict initiated by US-Israeli strikes on Iran ten weeks ago.
