Nobel Laureate Narges Mohammadi Transferred to Tehran Hospital Amid Health Concerns
Narges Mohammadi, a Nobel Peace laureate and activist, has been transferred to a hospital in Tehran after collapsing in prison. Her foundation reported that she was moved following pleas from her family and others who described her condition as critical. Mohammadi, who has been imprisoned since December, lost consciousness twice and was initially taken to a local hospital on May 1. Her foundation has called for her permanent release, citing the need for specialized medical care. The Legal Medicine Organization, a government-appointed body, recommended her transfer due to her multiple illnesses. Mohammadi's brother, based in Oslo, expressed relief at her transfer, which had previously been blocked by Iranian authorities.
