American Society of Civil Engineers Hosts Concrete Canoe Competition in Utah
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) recently held its annual student symposium at the University of Utah, featuring a concrete canoe competition at Jordanelle State Park. This event, known as the 'America’s Cup of Civil Engineering,' involved participation from various Southwestern state schools, including Boise State University, University of Las Vegas, and Utah State University, among others. The competition, which took place from April 13-19, included events such as concrete canoe races, steel bridge construction, and sustainable solutions challenges. Despite adverse weather conditions leading to the event being cut short, students engaged in the competition with enthusiasm, showcasing their engineering skills and teamwork.
