Terminally Ill Mother Receives Thousands of Christmas Cards After Viral Plea
Clare Jones, a 47-year-old mother from Swansea, has been overwhelmed with thousands of Christmas cards after her Facebook plea went viral. Diagnosed with bowel cancer in May 2022, Clare was recently informed that her chemotherapy is no longer effective, leaving her with an estimated 10 months to live. In an effort to make her last Christmas special, Clare asked for extra Christmas cards, hoping for 10 to 15 from friends. Instead, her request was shared by over 10,000 people, resulting in a flood of cards, gifts, and well-wishes from around the world. Clare, who has been raising her three children alone, expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of love and support, which has included cards from countries such as the United States, Greece, and New Zealand.
