Wrong-Way Driver Causes Serious I-295 Crash in Portland, Maine
Three individuals sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision on I-295 in Portland, Maine, on a recent Saturday evening. Maine State Police reported that the incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Investigators determined that 88-year-old Ronald Ferguson of Nelson, New Hampshire, was driving his Subaru Outback in the wrong direction, having accidentally entered the southbound lanes. His vehicle subsequently collided head-on with another car. Ferguson, his female passenger, and the driver of the other vehicle were all transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland. While their injuries were classified as serious, they were not considered life-threatening, according to reports.
