Union Pacific Employee Discovers Six Dead in Train Car Near Texas-Mexico Border
A tragic discovery was made by a Union Pacific employee who found six deceased individuals inside a boxcar at a rail yard near the Texas-Mexico border. The incident occurred in Laredo, Texas, where the train was stopped for inspection before continuing its journey north. The Laredo police department, along with the Texas Rangers, is investigating the cause of death, which remains unknown. The temperatures at the time of discovery were above 90°F, and no survivors were found in the boxcar. This incident is reminiscent of a 2024 case where 20 migrants were rescued from a train compartment in Laredo in a dehydrated state. Union Pacific, a major rail operator in the U.S., is cooperating with authorities in the investigation.
