Minneapolis Apartment Shooting Leaves Two Residents Dead, Six Injured, Including Police Officers
A mass shooting occurred at a downtown Minneapolis apartment complex, resulting in the deaths of two residents, Dale Henry Spry, 63, and Muse A. Afrah, 61. Six other individuals were injured, including two building employees and three Minneapolis police officers. The suspected shooter, Carlton Johnson II, opened fire during a child custody exchange at the Shoreline Apartments. After injuring the child's mother and two building employees, Johnson moved to the ninth floor where he shot and killed Spry and Afrah. Police officers Joseph Michnowski and Yahye Ahmed were injured during an exchange of gunfire with Johnson, who was subsequently shot and killed by a Minneapolis police officer. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is investigating the incident. An online fundraiser has been started for one of the injured building employees, a property manager named Jan, who is reported to be stable after multiple surgeries.
