Shinshinim Program Brings Israeli Culture to U.S. Preschools
The Jewish Agency for Israel's Shinshinim program is enhancing Jewish educational settings across the U.S. by integrating Israeli high school graduates into preschool, elementary, middle, and high school classrooms. These young Israelis, who dedicate a year to service before their military commitment, bring modern Israeli culture into educational environments, leading youth groups and holiday celebrations. In the Bay Area, a pilot program has placed Shinshinim in eight preschools, focusing on early childhood education. This initiative, supported by EarlyJ, aims to make preschool classrooms more vibrant and deeply rooted in Israeli culture. The program is designed to introduce Hebrew through songs and play, bring Israeli holidays to life, and model values like kindness and community.
