Justice Ramos Empowers Navajo Youth Through Entrepreneurship and Infrastructure Projects
Justice Ramos, a 29-year-old entrepreneur, has founded the nonprofit Fundamental Needs to address critical infrastructure gaps in the Navajo Nation and surrounding areas. The organization focuses on providing clean drinking water, electricity, education, and vocational opportunities. During the pandemic, Fundamental Needs delivered essential supplies to Navajo citizens, and it continues to address long-term needs by building off-grid water systems. Ramos has also initiated a high school program where Indigenous students learn to build and install these systems, gaining skills in plumbing and electrical work. The program has installed over 240 systems, providing students with practical experience and stipends. Additionally, Ramos has launched a youth entrepreneurship program in Cortez, Colorado, teaching students to develop business plans and offering internships.
