Cairngorms Wildfire Smoke Reaches Aberdeen, Residents Advised to Stay Indoors
Smoke from a wildfire in the Cairngorms National Park has drifted as far as Aberdeen, prompting the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) to advise residents to keep doors and windows closed. The wildfire, which began near Glenmore, remains dynamic and unpredictable, with over 100 firefighters and specialist equipment deployed to manage the situation. Despite road closures and police cordons, some individuals have attempted to enter the affected area, complicating firefighting efforts. The RSPB Scotland is also involved in the response, as the fire threatens the Loch Garten Nature Reserve.
