Kansas Bar Owner Allegedly Kisses Toddler and Blows Out Birthday Candle, Prompting Investigation
A Kansas mother, Cassie Berrios, has accused the owner of Stearman Field Bar & Grill in Benton, Kansas, of kissing her toddler daughter on the cheek and blowing out her birthday candle without permission. The incident occurred on August 28 during the child's second birthday party. According to Berrios, the man, identified as an 'equity holder' of the establishment, approached her daughter, put his arm around her, called her beautiful, and attempted to kiss her on the lips. The child moved her head, resulting in a kiss on the cheek. The man then blew out the candle. When confronted by the mother, he allegedly responded with vulgar language and attempted to touch the child again before being blocked. Police have opened an investigation into reports of battery on a child, though no arrests have been made. The bar's management has acknowledged the incident, stating that the actions of one individual do not reflect the goodwill of their other employees and that steps are being taken to prevent similar conduct.
