Local Sound Collaborative Expands with New Studio in Rochester, Enhancing Accessibility for Musicians
Local Sound Collaborative, a nonprofit organization established in 2022, is set to open a new studio in Downtown Rochester, New York. The organization, which aims to create a visible and accessible home for musicians, artists, and families, is moving from its previous location on Railroad Street to 343 East Avenue. The new space will allow for expanded programming and increased accessibility. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for July 25, 2026, featuring live music from local artists. The organization is also conducting a fundraising campaign with a goal of $20,000 to support the transition and sustain its programming. The new studio is seen as a significant step in fostering community engagement and providing a welcoming environment for artists of color, women, and other musicians.
