Allegany County Area Foundation Awards Over $380,000 in Scholarships to Local Students
The Allegany County Area Foundation (ACAF) has awarded $387,240 in scholarships to over 200 students from Allegany County for the 2026-2027 academic year. These scholarships are intended to support students pursuing higher education and career training. The recipients come from various school districts within the county, including Alfred-Almond, Andover, Belfast, Bolivar-Richburg, Cuba-Rushford, Fillmore, Friendship, Genesee Valley, Scio, Wellsville, and Whitesville, as well as Houghton Academy and local homeschool programs. The scholarships cover a wide range of fields, with nursing being the most popular, followed by education and skilled trades. ACAF's scholarship program is noted for its ongoing support, allowing students to reapply throughout their educational journey, even into graduate school.
