Oregon Department of Emergency Management Launches Free Webinars for Rural Disaster Preparedness
The Oregon Department of Emergency Management is organizing a series of free webinars aimed at equipping rural communities with the necessary tools and knowledge to handle disasters such as floods, extreme heat, and wildfires. The initiative, titled 'Rural Communities Prepared for Disasters,' will feature disaster response experts who will provide insights and resources tailored to the unique needs of rural Oregonians. The first session, scheduled for April 22, will focus on preparedness and response strategies, including maintaining communication during disasters, evacuation protocols, and backup power options. A second session on May 13 will address recovery processes, funding, and the role of long-term recovery groups.
