Federal Raids in Minnesota Target Businesses in Medicaid Fraud Investigation
Federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, executed 22 search warrants in the Minneapolis area as part of an ongoing fraud investigation. The raids targeted businesses, many of which are recipients of Medicaid funding, such as child care facilities. This operation is part of a broader investigation into allegations of fraudulent use of federal funds by Somali businesses, which has been a subject of recent congressional scrutiny. The raids are not related to immigration issues, despite the involvement of Homeland Security Investigations, a unit within Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
